Jones shared expectations for the webinar at the start, clarifying that he would not have time to explore how to download the apps he would be focusing on in the session, which included Uber, Lyft, GrubHub, and Instacart, but that a tutorial video on how to download apps to your smart phone would be made available to attendees on St. John’s YouTube Channel as accessible here.
In this third webinar, what Jones did focus on in detail were a basic overview, the benefits of each, and how to use the four featured apps that seniors could use for home delivery. Some of the highlights of the session were the complete walk-throughs of each of the steps involved with accessing Uber and Lyft transportation services, ordering take out food from any area restaurant using GrubHub (and comparisons to DoorDash), as well as placing grocery orders through Instacart.
There was certainly a great deal more that could be said about the topic than what could be covered in the 90-minute session; however, Jones pointed attendees to additional videos he created to expand upon the topic that are available to St. John’s friends for a limited time here.
St. John’s is pleased to have brought Jones in, not only for this webinar series, but also as an instructor for its senior residents at St. John’s Meadows and Bricktsone by St. John’s. Jones is part of a new project being launched to position senior resident technology experts as peer mentors to fellow residents in need of assistance.
